Head of the Department

The Department of Applied Physics has faculty keenly devoted to teaching and as well as research. The Department always strives for the betterment of the students so that they become capable of opening up new portals in the Modern era. Over the years, the Department has carved a niche' through scintillating results, research, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities.

Dr. Sanjay Jain keeps on exploring new ideas amongst the faculty members to give new dimensions to the teaching learning process.The department has a strong team of six faculty members undergoing research in front line subjects like Nanotechnology, Luminescence, Materials science and others. Four faculty members have been awarded Ph.D. by the Nagpur University,One faculty has submitted thesis and rest are working towards their doctoral degree.Many R & D activities such as biannual seminars, fortnightly follow-up of research, publishing and presenting research papers in National and International Journals & conferences are regularly taken up.

16 Research students has completed Ph.D. Degree from the department and were awarded degree by R.T.M. Nagpur University, Nagpur. Physics Department has well equipped Laboratories where about 60 students can perform experiments at a time.A proactive knowledge base centre has been setup by the department in the institute to create the curiosity among the students beyond curriculum. The knowledge center aims to convey how knowledge promises enjoyment,employment,empowerment and enlightenment to the learners.

The faculty of Applied Physics Department always work hard to impart stimulant momentum to budding engineers and adds a potential in them to work efficiently and energetically. Many student oriented activities are a regular feature of the Department like intercollegiate paper presentation competitions and National level Students Convention comprising model and poster making competitions. The students are also encouraged to participate in such competitions in IITs, NITs and other colleges too.
