International Projects - EGEA

About Project

The transition to a sustainable development is an urgent necessity for all countries, therefore also for our partner countries: The Kyrgyz Republic, Nepal and India, since at present, these countries' socio-economic development is largely based on the consumption of natural resources. Today, these countries face challenges that pose a threat to their future: depletion of natural resources, loss of basic natural ecosystems and stagnation of human capital.

Green economy and green skills are of global importance and could generate as much growth and employment as a conservative economy, and outperforms the latter in the medium and long run, while yielding significantly more environmental and social benefits. Of course, moving towards a green economy will require Asian governments, HEIs, civil society and leading businesses to engage in this transition collaboratively. In our project consortium we aim to enhance a green economy through education, collaboration and innovation.

We are looking at experts and universities as catalysts for an interdisciplinary expertise and the transfer of knowledge towards all citizens.

VISION & VALUES

The overall aim of our project is to contribute to a sustainable development in all its aspects: ecologically, economically and socially. We believe that education is the key to green innovation and to reach the international 1,5-degree goal.

Our project team consists of many different people of more than 16 nationalities. We value our diversity and have experienced that this is a strength for our collaboration as our international team of education experts are working on improved and innovative curricula that will enhance green thinking, green behaviour and green economy!
